I just got myself a Nikon D80; was toying with it some today. Now I have relearn all the stuff I used to know about shutter speeds and fstop and all that.
Or you could set it in, "HELP!" mode. By using preset settings.

This is true - and it's how I've been using it. But that doesn't begin to exploit the pure sweetness that is DSLR photography - which is really the point of getting something that fancy.
I'll just have to resort to my autodidact tentencies I guess.
