Leave was wonderful for my picture taking, but alas - being back on camp pendleton and the soul crushing despair that comes with it has capped my activities.

I want to go to the beach on a nice sunny day and take lots of ocean related pictures - but no one I know is interested wandering around in the sand as I chase birds, waves, and various small creatures. Reason number three for getting a vehicle soon.

I've been on leave since the start of the month and have been able to take a lot more photos - my last dump had 137 pictures, a lot of it was trash from me messing with ISO settings, exposure and F-stop; but there were a few gems.

Anywho, I'll be going back home to washington for a bit less than a month in a few days - so hopefully pictures of 4th of July stuff, and who knows what all else.

Lots of things have happened since my last post in here. Ok - so not really; but I haven't been actively doing anything for the last few weeks. My schedule leaves me burned out for the few days I have off work, and I basically spend that burned out time playing video games and sleeping. I wish I could take my camera equipment to work with me and use it there - but I don't really trust my coworkers enough to leave it laying around when I actually have to work. (I stand guard on locked buildings now - posts are four hours long, but we have to spend the entire shift in the guard shack - and the shift lasts for either 48 or 72 hours. It's absurdly boring -- I've been catching up on my reading and writing.)

I have been doing some writing though, and bits of it will eventually show up around here and in other places. It'll be a bit different from my usual fair, I think - since I've been re-reading China Mieville's Bas Lag books.

I haven't gotten to mess with my new equipment since I got it -- work took a turn to sucking. Lack of mobility doesn't help either.

But I got some accessories - filters, a bigger camera bag so I don't have to carry the big lens seperate, etc...
